LISTENING POST: Sabatta — “No Permission”

@mryinkaoyewole returns with a new incarnation of Sabatta AND new music!

KNOW-MY-NAME-EP_e

Longtime readers will recognize the band Sabatta, who was featured on our first compilation album way back when.  Since then, we’ve tracked the comings and goings of one Mr. Yinka Oyewole, from being raw, but a human being, to his ode to Brooklyn and South London and everything in between.

He returns today with the Know My Name EP, this time incarnated as the duo of himself and drummer Marialessia Dell’acqua.  What’s cool is to hear Sabatta’s evolution.  For this EP, Yinka and Mari have kept the rock, but dialed up the grungy soul even more.  Expect lots of headnodding and toe-tapping under your headphones.

Anyway, here’s our favorite track from the 4-song offering, “No Permission”.  Enjoy!
