The increase in film coverage you may have noticed is due to the input and voice of Brooklynite Curtis Caesar John.  Really thrilled to have his energy and passion for film and TV in the mix here at the magazine.

Curtis comes to Bold As Love as a filmmaker, critic and an exhibitor.  As an exhibitor, he’s the co-founder and current Festival Director for New Voices in Black Cinema, a multi-day film festival, produced in association with BAMcinématek.  New Voices in Black Cinema is the premiere event for ActNow Foundation, a non-profit arts company based in Brooklyn, NY of which he is also the Director of Film Programming.  As a writer, Curtis covers film and culture for Limité Magazine, as well as for our friends at Shadow And Act.   For them, he created the regular feature ‘This Week in Black Television.’

If you haven’t seen it, check out the new feature he’s launched here, Yes! No!! Why?!?, wherein he reviews film trailers.

Smart thing to do would be to follow him on Twitter at @MediaManWatch.

Welcome aboard, Curtis!
