UPCOMING: ringshout @ The Brooklyn Book Festival — 9/20

@ringshout takes over @franklinkparkbk for @bkbf! See you there!

clockwise from top left: Luckett, Baker, Kennedy, Ulen

We’ve mentioned ringshout before (here and here), an ongoing initiative to support excellence in black literature co-founded by authors Martha Southgate, Eisa Ulen, Bridgett Davis, and editor Chris Jackson.  Glad to see they’ll be represented again at one of the Brooklyn Book Festival “Bookend” events.  This year’s event (the group’s third at BKBF) features readings by, and conversations with, Jacqueline Luckett (Passing Love);  Calvin Baker (Dominion); plus a tribute to the late Erica Kennedy (Feminista and Bling) by her friend Eisa Ulen (Crystelle Mourning).

The event is co-hosted by the Frank Park Reading Series and takes place at

Franklin Park Bar & Beer Garden
618 St. John’s Place (bet. Classon & Franklin)

Thursday, September 20

FREE, but if you want to drink or eat (and you should!), remember that Franklin Park is CASH ONLY!
