@Weeksville Series Finishes Strong: Stew & Heidi PLUS Just A Band — July 28

A great lineup wraps the 2012 Garden Party series!

@stewtnp @justaband

Some of our favorite people are hitting the stage Saturday as Weeksville’s Garden Party roars, rocks and blips its way to a close!

Long time readers of Bold As Love will recognize Tony winners Stew and his partner Heidi Rodewald for the great work they did on Broadway’s Passing Strange.  They’ll be pulling from that show, music from the extensive catalog of The Negro Problem, as well as previewing music from their new album (and production) Makin’ It, the album of which will be out in the fall.

And Kenyan electronic art collective Just A Band returns to the States.  Some of you got to see them this year at SXSW.  We were fortunate to orchestrate their first US and NYC show last year at DROM, and have them on our 2010 mixtape.  Needless to say, we’re big fans and glad to have the guys back on this side of the pond.  They’ll also be at Central Park Summerstage on August 4 with Amadou & Miriam and Theophilus London, another Weeksville alum!

Stew & Heidi hit at 6PM, Just A Band follows at 7, and Manchild Black will spin magic throughout.

More show info, directions, etc. on the Weeksville site here.
