Some of y’all remember meeting Baratunde Thurston at the Festival of the New Black Imagination back in October. He joined Amanda Seales and Toure on the closing panel we called How To Be Black which, incidentally, is the name of his forthcoming book.
What’s the book about? It’s about how to be black. Just like the title says. The official line(s): The book “is a humorous, intelligent, and audacious guide that challenges and satirizes the so-called experts, purists, and racists who purport to speak for all black people. With honest storytelling and biting wit, Baratunde plots a path not just to blackness, but one open to anyone interested in simply ‘how to be.'”
