FTW! Black Girls in Space + other scenes from Idea Festival 2010

Stop me if you've heard this one: Two generations of space girls meet at a conference and. . .

Looks like it was a great and invigorating Idea Festival last week, especially the section on Thrivals that was presented by Wondaland Arts Society.  I’m hoping to get some video, particularly of the conversation between Nichelle Nichols (one of the big reasons a lot of us watched Star Trek back in the day) and Janelle Monae.  In the meantime, check out this slideshow, courtesy of photographer Chuck Heeke.
