UPCOMING: JohnnySwim + Maya Azucena @ Joe's Pub–9/11

Joy. Exhuberance. JohnnySwim. Maya Azucena. What else you need to know?

Cool show tomorrow night, so if you’re in the NYC area, definitely something to check out.  Just getting to know JohnnySwim–aka Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez–thanks to my WRFB co-host Christian John Wikane.  Yep, Abner and Amanda turn it out with just two voices and a guitar.  They have an incredibly compelling mix of soul, pop, and rock.

And what’s to say about Maya Azucena who, in addition to being a killer singer and songwriter, is one of the hardest working women on the indie music scene?  Looking forward to hearing her rich, joyful voice and the new material that I hear is forthcoming.  Yeah, my house has done its share of wearing out her previous release, Junkyard Jewel, so we’re ready for a new one.

Saturday, September 11

Tickets: $14
