LISTENING POST: Kokayi – "Roxtar" (radio edit)

Once again, Kokayi Issa reps the DMV--and himself--lovely. From his forthcoming album

Just played this during my set on WRFB, so if you missed it, here it is again.  I’ve shouted out this brotha before because he’s the real deal and just good people. You may recall that he’s the brains and production talent behind theCaesarz, a group that appeared on the first compilation Fire In The Dark. Now, he’s got new music on the way, the forthcoming Robots & Dinosaurs LP.

Nice how he works in names of all his fave hard-rockin’ bands. Check out his label QN5 for a few other versions.

In the meantime, be a roxtar!
