LISTENING POST: Twin Shadow — "Castles In The Snow"

Twin Shadow, aka George Lewis, Jr., is another artist who mines and refreshes the new wave sound.

Twin Shadow, whose mother knows him as George Lewis, Jr.–is the former frontman of Boston-based Mad Man Films. He’s about to release his album Forget on Terrible Records, the label founded by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear.  Funny how, if you listened to music from Tecla, Gordon Voidwell, and now Twin Shadow, you’d swear the whole 80′s new wave is back strong.  That’s not a bad thing because all of these artists are bringing their takes to that sound, primarily through really strong songwriting.  Ultimately, it doesn’t sound hackneyed or like it’s a straight rip.

Enjoy!
