LISTENING POST: Saidah Baba Talibah — "No More"

North of the border, here's an artist worth watching.

I’d first heard about Saidah from Boston Fielder, who was trying to get her here for this year’s URB Alt Festival.  I knew if Boston was checking for her, there must be something special going on here. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to make it. But  I’m happy to say that there’s a lot happening.  The track here is from an in-studio acoustic performance that she did at a Canadian radio station.  But you can certainly here the power and the charisma in her voice.

Apparently, she created a lot of buzz after circulating her demos that were recorded on her mobile phone.  Currently, Saidah is finishing her full-length album and I, for one, am looking forward to hearing it.
