Two shows this weekend to help raise money to offset the medical expenses of one of the cornerstones of Parliament-Funkadelic.
The Black Rock Coalition, Sweet Relief and Soul-Patrol.com have organized two (2) fundraisers this weekend in Bloomfield, NJ (The MMAC, Saturday, July 10) and New York City (B.B. King’s, Sunday, July 11) with an all-star lineup performing classic Funkadelic hits.
Also, FUNK-KIN, a New Jersey based band comprised of Shider’s brothers and cousins, will open at MMAC show only. On both nights, there will be an all-star P-Funk jam, powered by the Black Rock Coalition Orchestra.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT LINEUPS EACH NIGHT, SO CHECK WITH VENUES FOR EXACT LINEUPS!
Confirmed performers include:
Lady Miss Kier
Dwayne “Blackbyrd” McKnight
Jerome “Bigfoot” Brailey
Jimi Hazel (24-7 Spyz)
V. Jeffrey Smith (The Family Stand)
Labelle’s Mama Funk (y’all know who that is, right?)
Militia (Swear On Your Life)
Kelsey Warren (Pillow Theory)
Doron Flake (The Smyrk)
Jeremiah Hosea (Earthdriver)
Shelly Nicole (blakBüshé)
And other special surprises!
Again, all proceeds will go to the family to help defray Garry's medical expenses. So, even if you can't go, please buy a ticket or, better yet, make a donation thru the Garry Shider Medical Fund or Sweet Relief.
