What do artists do in between their main projects? Work with people whose music they respect and, maybe, even love.  That's the case with The Soulfolk Experience.  Here's what their Myspace page says about them:

Led by Maritri Garrett, THE SOULFOLK EXPERIENCE is a
rotating circle of veteran multi- instrumentalists/songwriters. This
highly acclaimed artist conglomeration features musicians well known in
NY rock, jazz and folk circles, including V. Jeffrey Smith, David
Pilgrim
, Shelley Nicole and Jeff Jeudy. The collective boasts experience
with artists such as Barbra Streisand, the Five Blind Boys of Alabama,
the Indigo Girls and Me'shell N'degeocello. All of the SOULFOLK
EXPERIENCE roster are all solo artists or part of successful groups in
their own right, but who enjoy playing and performing each others
material.

I don't usually post three songs at a time, but I wanted to give you all a flavor of the key members of Soulfolk. No, I didn't include Jeff Smith since, if you've heard any music by The Family Stand, you know he's got a wonderful voice.  Instead, I decided to shine some light on Jeff Jeudy, Maritri Garrett (who's doing a Family Stand cover), and David "Island Soul" Pilgrim.

Enjoy!
