Rodcore (l) and Dirty Walt
One of the bands I missed at SXSW. The YOTD album, Blunt Force Karma, is hard-hitting, soulful and full of thoughtful lyrics. Driven by sledgehammer drums, grinding guitars and phat-bottomed bass, contributor Earl Douglas tagged it as one of his Best of 2009. And now I see why. Then again, what else would you expect from a band comprised of two former Fishbone members–Dirty Walt and Spacey T?
