Cybergirl Janelle Monae returns with one of two singles (the other is “Tightrope” featuring OutKast’s Big Boi) that she’s releasing to tease the upcoming album The ArchAndroid, which will drop on May 18.
It’s about time. I mean, my hat’s off to Janelle and the Wondaland Arts team: They’ve been working her first EP, Metropolis: The Chase Suite Vol. 1, since late 2007. Yeah, really. So here’s hoping that the foundation’s solid and that this album is full of great songs like “Many Moons”.
Fans can catch her as part of this summer’s Lilith Fair, as well as the following residencies and performances leading up to the release:
