This should be quite a treat for those of us in the Brooklyn area this weekend.  Here's how the Black Rock Coalition describes this event:

In remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the transition of quiet musical giant Curtis Mayfield, the BRC Orchestra launches the BRC’s 25th Anniversary year by performing selections from the master’s poignant and politically astute repertoire in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. weekend celebration

With Sophia Ramos, Dean Bowman, Maya Azucena, Gordon Chambers, V. Jeffrey Smith, Ronny Drayton (June 15 only), Kelsey Warren (Pillow Theory), Doron Flake (The Smyrk), Wayne Cobham, Gene Williams and more!
