LISTENING POST: Res — "So What Am I (Sunday Nite Res)"

ResBlackGirlsRockcover_600x439

New music from Res.  This is my favorite track from her recently released album, Black.Girls.Rock.  I'm not going to go into detail, since my co-conspirator, Rana Emerson, is putting the finishing touches on a full album review.  Suffice it to say that I hope 2010 is the year for Res.  On top of having a beautiful voice, her songwriting is strong and sharp–listen to the hook on this track–an ability that's still rare when you look at the overall music landscape.

If you like what you hear, you can download the full album for free over at her site.

Enjoy!
