UPCOMING: blaKbushe's "Quick & Dirty" EP release party–November 20

Really happy for Shelley and her band, blaKbushe, on the completion of their EP.  Shelley leads an incredibly tight ensemble, whose sound was recently described by Curve Magazine as a "a rock-soul-electronica hybrid, sounding like a feminist version of the Brooklyn Funk Essentials."

Check 'em out some the set they performed back in June at the Boldaslove.us event at the Northside Festival:

Cool, too, to see that California King is supporting them on this show.  Of course, if you can't wait til the 20th to see either of these bands, you can download the free Boldaslove.us compilation and satisfy your blaKbushe and California King jones right now.

Should be a nice celebration with these two bands and The Tea Party's Ian Friday on the the decks.
