UPCOMING: Living Colour at The Roots Jam — August 10

The Roots have long been a favorite in progressive music circles because they are a live hip hop band that's not afraid to take on the issues of the day.  And it's cool to see them doing what live musicians have been doing for years: Regular jam sessions at the Highline Ballroom (hardly a stretch since their show are exactly that: extended jam sessions).

I've never been to one, but I figure next Monday is as good a time as any, especially since it will feature Living Colour as special guests.  Both Vernon and Corey have performed separately in the past.  Here's some video of Vernon:
