UPCOMING: Corey Glover/Wade In The Water II — July 31

If you're around tomorrow (unfortunately, I won't be) please check out this special fundraiser for the New York 2 New Orleans Coalition.  Coming off the success of the first event, Corey will be doing an acoustic jam with some special friends.

The info:

Friday July 31st, 2009
6pm – 11pm
85 South Oxford Street
Brooklyn, NY 11217

Price: $10 at the door, $5 if you confirm on this event page, FREE if
you’ve ever volunteered or chaperoned a NY2NO brigade. If you wish to
support NY2NO but geography prevents you from being at the event,
please consider making an online donation to NY2NO.

Speaking of NY2NO it is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. They are a youth-led,
consensus-based organization creating a network of young people
interested in organizing and mobilizing across New York City. NY2NO
works in solidarity with those most affected by the social, racial, and
economic inequalities in both New York and New Orleans. Through this,
the youth break down barriers and work together to combat racism and
classism and help move us towards a more egalitarian society. For more
information on NY2NO please visit them at http://www.ny2no.org/

More details on the event are on the Living Colour blog.
