Upcoming: Ghost Gamblers — Sunday, June 21

Earl Greyhound's Kamara Thomas steps out with her country-rock project, Ghost Gamblers.  I haven't heard it, but it sounds interesting, based on this Village Voice clip:

"This local country-rock outfit may appear to be a fledgling band, but
it is certainly well seasoned, containing members of the Basement Band
and Larune as it does. Brimming over with great players (including
Monuments man Gabe Berezin) and fine singers (like the lovely Amal
Bouhabib), this group’s ace appears to be Kamara Thomas: Oftener than
not, her songs and her spectral visions distinguish the project from
the City’s habitual Yankee twang-seekers dazedly grasping for the briar
patch.
"

This is kind of a different thing for her, in that, if you know her from Greyhound, you know she holds down the low end.  In Ghost Gamblers, however, she plays guitar.  Ghost Gamblers will do both electric and acoustic sets, as well as an acoustic set from Earl Greyhound.  They'll be performing with Fat Kids Playing Dodgeball and singer Emily O'Halloran.

Check it out if you can.
