Tour dates: The Mars Volta

Mars Volta
The Mars Volta: Cedric Bixler-Zavala (l) and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

Ya boy's been asleep.  Narcoleptic, even, when it comes to The Mars Volta.

I admitted it on Twitter last week: I've totally been sleeping on this group, which iTunes describes as "part-metal, part-funk, part-prog rock, part-dada art project".  So now, I'm trying to make up for lost time, not that I've heard just how effin' awesome these Latin brothas are.

Their new album, Octahedron, drops June 23 here in the States.  This is their post-Grammy win for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Wax Simulacra", taken from The Bedlam In Goliath.
