My New York State of Mind

You may have noticed that the majority of the artists and shows I write about are in the NYC area.  Part of the reason is that there's a strong Black rock and Afro-punk community here.  But another reason is that, apart from national touring bands, I'm not as familiar with the scenes in other cities.  Now, I know Black rock or Black alt stuff is popping off all over the place.  But, I'm not as easily able to put my finger on it.

So, here's my request: If you're a band with tour dates, please send them.  If you just know of someone I should listen to, please let me know that, too.  What I can promise you is that I'll give the suggested artists a spin.  If I dig it, I'll figure out what to do as a next step.  But the first step is to make sure I know about you and what you're doing.  Where to start?  See the email addresses to the right under "Useful Email Addresses".

Thanks, all!
