One of the things BRC Director of Operations Darrell McNeill mentioned during our CMJ showcase was the then upcoming BRC residency at the Whitney Museum in NYC. Unfortunately, I missed the kickoff event last Friday with the BRC Orchestra. Anyway, here’s the deal:
Every Friday in November, the BRC will present a series called “Experiments in Color Negatives: A Reconstruction of Southern Black Music”. The series ties in the retrospective of Memphis photographer William Eggleston.

Brazz Tree performs the music of Otis Redding
All shows start at 7pm and admission is pay-what-you-will.
The Whitney is located at 945 Madison Avenue @ 75th Street
