LISTENING POST: Res–"I'm On My Way"

With last night’s results in, and Barack Obama now president-elect, we all breathe a sigh of relief.  A page turns.  We walk with a bit more pep in our step.  We face the challenges ahead with renewed optimism.  There’s a sense that we’re really in this–whatever this is–together.

So, I wanted to share with you a song that captures that sense of optimism.  A friend of mine shared this track to me a couple of years ago, and the chorus is so very catchy.  I’m not sure if the wonderful Ms. Ballard ever released it.  I know she’s been busy lately with her new project with rapper Talib Kweli and singer Graph Nobel called Idle Warship.  Anyway, this song is in frequent rotation in my iPod.  It’s about some happy music today before we roll up our sleeves and get to the tasks confronting us.

We’re definitely on our way, so turn it up and enjoy!

res is one of the most underrated singers in years; get that first album (written entirely by santi white); its a must have just for “golden boys.”
