"Passing Strange" starts its Broadway run on February 8

Regular readers of this blog know that I am a huge fan of Stew’s musical, Passing Strange, having been fortunate enough to see it during its run at the Public Theater last summer.  Good news is that this Black rock musical is set to open at the Belasco Theater on February 8.  This is a well-deserved and well-earned honor.  For example, here’s part of what the New York Times said about it:

PASSING STRANGE defies generic categories. It dares in
its playful way to honor big questions that have set adolescent souls
yearning for centuries. How to discover and be true to your
convictions, how to live a meaningful life, and still pay the bills,
how to find the understanding you need without throwing away the love
you’re offered.

Better yet, discount tickets are available.  Here’s the offer:

So, do yourself a favor: Run, don’t walk to see this musical.  As Kandia and Tavia note: "Finally, a Color Purple for the rest of us!"
