BoldasLOVE.us Makes EbonyJet.com's 2007 "Most Important" List!

What a great way to start the new year!  The ongoing "Best of Black rock releases" series has been chosen by EbonyJet.com as one of The Most Important Blog Posts of 2007.  As I wrote in the comments to that post, it’s really humbling and I’m very appreciative of this honor.

Here’s what they wrote:

#10. The first thumbs up goes to the blog Bold As Love for its 2007 Roundup of the Best in Black Rock, for no greater reason than somebody has to hold it down for Black folks’ right to free expression and rockin’ out.

However, it needs to be said that I could NOT have done this without the support of the community.  So I want to share this honor with all of you.  We should take it as another indication that there is growing support for Black rock and recognition of the need for a new Black imagination out there in the larger African American community.  We just have to collectively keep the discussion going and letting people know that there are many, many ways to be authentically Black in the 21st century.

Also in the spirit of community, I have to shout out all the other blogs that made the list, including the honorable mentions.  Some of them I’m not familiar with, but look forward to getting to know.  A several that made the list were blogs  from friends including Emeka Okafor’s Timbuktu Chronicles (African entrepreneurship); HighJive’s MultiCultClassics (multicultural marketing); and David Mills’ Undercover Black Man (pop culture and politics).

Congrats to all.  Now, please check out the entire list here.
